We are looking for a skilled and experienced WordPress Developer to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building high-quality WordPress websites, customising themes and plugins, and applying best practices in performance and security. You will work closely with designers, developers, and clients to deliver reliable, scalable, and secure web solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development team in building, testing, and deploying WordPress websites.
  • Customise and extend WordPress themes and plugins to enhance functionality and user experience.
  • Collaborate with UI/UX designers and fellow developers to implement modern website layouts and features.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve WordPress-related issues efficiently.
  • Maintain clear documentation, including code comments, technical notes, and user guides.
  • Update and maintain existing WordPress websites with content and functional improvements.
  • Stay current with WordPress updates, trends, and best practices.
  • Lead regular security hardening, monitoring, and optimisation activities.
  • Manage WordPress deployments and environments on WP Engine and other cloud platforms.
  • Take ownership of client projects and deliver work within agreed timelines and SLAs.
  • Integrate WordPress with third-party services using REST APIs.
  • Track task progress and provide regular status updates to project leads.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Strong proficiency in PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in WordPress development.
  • Solid understanding of WordPress CMS, PHP, and MySQL.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as WP Engine, AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Proven ability to build custom WordPress themes and child themes.
  • Extensive experience developing and customising WordPress plugins.
  • Strong understanding of secure coding practices and WordPress security hardening.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team.
  • A proactive mindset with a willingness to learn and adapt.
